Learning stays on your device

Kobane Mandarin has no account, advertising, analytics, chat, or developer-operated server. The app does not upload your child's lesson activity or voice to us.

Lesson progress and preferences are stored on your device. They are not synchronized by Kobane between devices. These files may be included in backups controlled by you and your device settings. Deleting the app removes its local data; restoring a device backup may restore saved progress.

The microphone is optional

You can choose to record up to six seconds of Mandarin practice and hear it back. Recordings stay in private temporary storage on the device, are excluded from device backups, and are never uploaded, transcribed, or used to grade pronunciation.

A recording is discarded when you leave the activity, start another recording, or put the app in the background. If an unexpected shutdown leaves a temporary file, the app clears it at its next launch. You can turn microphone access off in Settings. Listening, tracing, and practicing out loud still work without recording.

Purchases are handled by Apple

The optional one-time purchase unlocks the remaining worlds. Apple processes payment. Kobane uses Apple's StoreKit to obtain product information and verify whether the unlock is owned, and stores a local ownership cache. Kobane does not receive your payment-card details. Purchasing and restoring may require an internet connection to Apple.

No child profile or tracking

Kobane does not ask for a child's name, birthday, email address, location, or account. There are no advertising or analytics SDKs and no behavioral tracking.

A parent or guardian can contact privacy@imbadace.com with privacy or support questions. Please do not send a child's voice recording or other unnecessary personal information. If you email us, your message and email address reach the mailbox provider; that correspondence is separate from the app's on-device learning data, and is kept only as long as needed to answer you.

About this website

These pages are static and carry no analytics, advertising, or cookies of their own. As with any website, the web server records standard request information, such as the requesting IP address and the page requested, in order to serve and protect the site. The app itself does not load or contact this website.
